What is a Peel?
You may have heard of a chemical/stimulator peel before, but what exactly is it?
Well, essentially, the Stimulator Peel consists of active ingredients including lactic, citric and salicylic acid. These acids deeply exfoliate the skin, by promoting skin cell turnover, meaning that it creates newer, healthier skin cells, creating a smoother, clearer complexion.
Many other common peels leave skin flaking, peeling and dry, but this peel leaves skin very dewy, glowing and hydrated. The acids dissolve the outer layers of dead skin, allowing the acids to deeply penetrate the skin to increase the cellular turnover rate. Because of this, the peels can even allow your other skincare products work more effectively, and can also better the look of foundation or other face makeup. As the acids remove the outer dead layers of the skin, skin care products can better penetrate the skin, as there is no barrier. After the removal of the dead skin cell barrier, makeup too will lay smoother on the face, creating a soft, clean look.
After your first peel you will see significant results, but to achieve maximum benefits, you may do a series of peels over two to three week intervals.
What does my Stimulator Peel include?
When receiving a peel, there are important steps that we follow at Modern Vitality in order for you to get the absolute benefits of your peel service.
We begin with a ZO double cleanse to remove any makeup or impurities to create a clean facial palate.
Next we exfoliate the skin with the ZO Exfoliating Polish in order to buff out the skin, and remove any dead or flaky skin.
Following the Exfoliating Polish we apply the Exfoliating Polish Accelerator.
Next we apply the ZO Peel Prep to prepare the skin for the peel.
Then we apply the peel, which is 1-3 passes (layers or applications), depending on your skin type.
Next we apply the ZO Neutralizer, to balance your skin's pH levels.
Here you can add on one of our face masks. We offer a ZO Aloe mask, a Zo Sulfur Mask, and our Hydrojelly masks.
After the mask, we apply ZO Daily Power Defense to hydrate, calm and nourish the skin after the peel.
