There's no nice way of putting it. Acne SUCKS. Whether you get the occasional circle of pimples, or you have been a lifelong sufferer, no one wants little face demons. At Modern Vitality Medical Spa, we make it our utmost goal to give people skin they have never been more proud of.

The Different Types of Acne + How to Treat
Oily Skin Breakouts
If you have this type of acne, your'e in luck! It is usually the easiest and quickest to treat. If you have a few white heads, or maybe some unwanted bumps where your mask covers your chin, chances are your skin is producing too much oil, thus causing irritation. This type of acne is now referred to as "Maskne."

If you are struggling with Maskne, we've gotcha covered.
Some products that work wonders:
ZO Exfoliating Cleanser
ZO Sulfur Masque
Zo Complexion Renewal Pads with salicylic acid
10% Benzol Peroxide
With the combination of these products, the skin will dry out (in a good way), to make it harder for the acne and irritation to come about.
While acne could obviously be worse, who wants any pimples to begin with!?
Hormonal Acne:
Hormonal acne is much more common to occur in women. This type of acne also comes around in adulthood (yay, just when you thought puberty was enough), and it can often get worse around the time of your period. In addition, hormonal acne is often on the lower half of the face: the chin, jawline, and cheeks. This type of acne cause be cystic, and super, super painful.
With hormonal acne, because the problem stems from inside, topical treatments can be difficult when treating. Because the skin is already so inflamed and irritated, harsh products will often not help. Therefore, you should be using products to soothe and calm the skin- not make it worse.
Weakened Mousture Barrier
The moisture barrier of your skin is what helps retain water and moisture, and protects your skin from bacteria and all of the “no-no’s.”

How can you tell if your moisture barrier is compromised?
• 𝘐𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘯 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘬𝘺, 𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘥?
• 𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘴𝘩 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘯?
• 𝘋𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘶𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘤𝘯𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨? (𝗬𝗲𝘀, 𝘄𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲).
•𝘋𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘯 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 (𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘺)?
If you answered yes to any of these, your moisture barrier may be in dire need of some healing. Fortunately, with some good products and treatments, your moisture barrier can be fixed.
Some products that TREAT + HEAL simultaneously:
